eclipsed by darkness

which extinguishes hope

and turns you against yourself

by your willingness to light a candle

to be that candle

to your fellow humans

Do not turn away

feed the darkness

There is a demon there

of unforgiveness

and deep fear

that does not see or speak

the ultimate truth

There is a fire in you

it is your spirit

and it calls to you

even in the midst of intense anxiety

do not turn a deaf ear to your heart

be the one

determined to light

that candle
