Sunflower
You smile upon me
With radiant beams of golden light
Reflecting the softness of your petals
Reminding me of the dual face
Of beauty and sorrow
The hurting ones dig deep within their
Aching souls
To find the love and joy denied
Given for free
In nature
Something in our soul opens
To this
We recognise it deeply
Thereby shedding
Unuseful skins
And there by find our meaning
And shelter
For gazing upon this
A garden of verdant green and radiant blooms
Reminds us that
Our true nature
Is born from both
Starlight
And dust
