Under the spring blossoms
You told me the tale of that time
Of how you nearly died
And of what precious gift
These passing years have been
A tear fell from my eye
When I realised
How little I really knew of your life
And of how much remains silent
If we never take the chance
To open the book of our heart
To be read
These precious moments are just a tiny fraction
Of time
And yet sometimes they reveal the truth of the ocean
That moved out from that pivotal experience
Carrying us on to our destiny
There are times I cry with the missing of you
Even though I know you are close
There are moments when I wish
I could sit with you quietly
And hold your hand
Gazing into your eyes
But sadly you were taken from me
Too soon
And still
I will always remember
As long as I live
That the most important part
Of who you were
And what you longed for
Continues to live on
Deep inside my heart
