Borderline Personality: Are They Bad at Reading Others? | Psychology Today

This just shows how ignorant some so called ‘proessionals’ can be.. People with BPD are often rejected by therapists who do not have any understanding at all of high level sensitivity, let alone the intricate complexity of what would be better labeled Complex PTSD.

This article from a doctor is absolutely appalling. “They make most therapists hate them.” Does he realize that numerous people with borderline personality disorder are going to read this? Does he think that his anectodal knowledge of therapists and other support personnel represents all therapists? I have always had good relationships with therapists. You are adding to the stigma of a very stigmatized mental health condition. We don’t need to know how therapists feel about us. As much as we don’t need to know how doctors like you feel about us. It is unprofessional, uncalled for and you should be ashamed of yourself.

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

I read this article and I’m not sure what the objection to this article was. I was first diagnosed with BPD when I tried to commit suicide. It was never mentioned again outside of that hospital and no one else attached this label to me. The point is, that just recently on my own I read some articles on BPD and I was horrified at what I read. 98% of the symptoms described I noticeably display when I get mad and it puts me back into that mode. Now, it only makes me mad when someone I love points out the traits. As far as I know, they have no idea what BPD is and much less that I was diagnosed with it. I have been told that I am manipulative and when I honestly look, I can see that at times. Is that what the objection was in that article?

    1. No its that the original wounding or invalidation abuse is not understood. We cannot heal until that is contained and understood but that takes much therapeutic strength. Then we need to learn more effective way to handle and express borderline rage that is assertive drives that failed to mature and find valid expression. As my therapist tells me always all anger is a cry from the True Self.
