Why do we turn a blind eye to the truth

Why is it so difficult to face

Tough emotional realities?

Suffering is a part of life

Illness, trauma,

Death and loss visit everyone

No one gets out of here alive

So while we are here

Let us be awake and aware

Even when we feel broken

Today I woke to blue skies

I did not see the magnificent sunrise

But I managed to move my body out of its

Freeze state

Until the terror abated

It is sad to me now how tightly I had to close

How alone I felt

In world gone deaf to emotions

And so like many I fell into the dark place

And struggled there

Working to bring my own knowing to birth

But you see these things of which I speak

Are well known to others

Awakening too

So let us join forces

Supporting

Emerging voices of wisdom

Compassion and love

And work to stand hand to hand

Looking forward in care

Letting go of looking back

In despair and anger

To embrace a world in which

We all travel lovingly

Side by side

Together
