On the bard and Tom Stoppard

The following podcast contains a very interesting interview with author and scholar Robert McCrum who has recently written a book on Shakespeare and his characters, life and historical times.. The interview contains interesting takes on the historic events lying behind the creation of the play Macbeth..

The second half of the podcast concerns the life of English play write Tom Stoppard as explored in a recent book by his biographer Hermoine Lee, as well as the impact of his Jewish heritage upon themes explored in his plays.. Stoppard has some interesting things to say on the creative process of the poet as well in an excerpt from a talk he gave while visiting Australia.
