The following meditation is from Tian Dayton.. It is a beautiful writing on being present in the moment and honouring the soul in us and the world.
I stand in awe of the beauty and mystery that surrounds me. This world need not be more than it is to convince me of the gift of life. I appreciate my life today. If I don’t appreciate it now, then that now will turn into hours, the hours to days, the days to months and the months to years, and I will have missed them. The moment is all that I have, what I do not say now will go unsaid, what I do not do now will go undone. When I do not see now, while it surrounds me, will go unseen. Everywhere my eye turns there is more of life. The life of spirit is at my fingertips, painted into each landscape, sewn into each seed, blossoming into each and every tree, flower and blade of grass.
For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For what has a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his own soul?
