This is some fun and a way to promote a WordPress poet whose work you really enjoy.
Welcome to Promote a Poet/Writer Thursday! This is the day of the week where all members of the Go Dog Go Café Community are invited to introduce a Poet or Writer they enjoy reading.
Participating is really fast and simple- in the comments below, post the link for the Home Page of the Poet/Writer you are introducing to us and tell us briefly why you think they are special.
We encourage all of you to visit these blogs (or social media pages) and get acquainted with some great new writers. You never know who you might meet. . .
Happy reading!
I’d nominate myself, but that would be shameless….
So I nominate Shakespeare, leaving me blameless.
Not THAT Shakespeare, the peerless bard,
But Shakespeare, the handyman, who mows my yard
And cuts my hedge in shapes of ‘shear’ poetry sublime
At no added charge….except for the cost of overtime.
Aww I adore that I saw the poetry in a tree yesterday and maybe all.poetry emanates from nature and those who stay close to, admire and tend to it ❤💖❤
….which reminds me of Joyce Kilmer’s TREES (“I think that I shall never see / a poem lovely as a tree”) — a poem I’ve always liked, even though Kilmer isn’t highly regarded as a poet by critics. At worst, I’d call him a “good bad poet” (see my latest post for my humorous take on the subject).
BTW, did you know that his poem was set to music some 90 or so years ago and became a fairly popular song in its day? I’m sure it’s on YouTube if you’re interested.
I will take a look. A had another lovely piece of writing on poems and trees from someone tucked away in drafts I was going to add to but I deleted last week in one of my inner critic cleanings.. lol
