Love comes and goes

And no one knows its rhyme or reason

Love may not last forever

Because everything in life has a season

And sure as there is a sun in the sky

One day you will have to say goodbye

To each and everyone

But even then love will perhaps live on

In a sweet memory

Or tender song

That reminds your soul of how wonderful it felt

To bask in love’s brief visitation

Before it alighted in winged flight

And escaped to a new destination
