You asked me

Moon and stars.jpg

You asked me

For the moon and the stars

And then for the healing balm

To repair your scars

That I deeply sense are still like fissures

Bleeding sadness undercover of words of love

Everything that is in me

Feels your pain

And my tears begin to fall down like rain

As the telephone bings and bings and bings

With icons of hearts and lovely things

Sent straight to my soul from yours

And as I drive homeward bound

I remember one of the first things you ever said to me

All I want is to love and be loved

And so my love

Even though I am not sure

If it is really time for me

To fully give my heart

I am going to open it anyway to this

Because sometimes the universe

Just sends you someone

And there are lessons to be learnt

Mostly of surrender

And so I will when you ask

Say to you

Not only moon and stars

But here my love

Stretched before you

Is the night sky

Entire

  1. An absolutely extraordinary finale to your beautiful poem, emotions oozing out of every line,
And there are lessons to be learnt

    Mostly of surrender
And so I will when you ask
    Say to you
    Not only moon and stars
    But here my love
    Stretched before you
    Is the night sky
    Entire
