A space opens

Falling

Falling through this emptiness

I hear whispers of my fear

Crying to me

As I let myself drop

And all the light is extinguished

There is no bottom to break this fall

No ground beneath my feet

Only an endless tunnel in which I find myself alone

So desperate for the care of a friend

Or a loving home

I do not know if I am ever going to hear your voice

Or touch your face

And there is always a chance

You will disappear without a trace

And it will take months to hear

Leaving me once again

All alone

Amidst this

Resounding emptiness
