Ode to the sun

Each morning you greet me

On the cloudless days

I turn and gaze

By the miracle magic of burnished Gold that falls

On timber floors

As I watch shadows of leaves

Dance before me

Buffeted about by the breeze

I find myself

In an open field of wonder

So far from torments in the mind

Far away from my struggle to put right

Deep wounds and separations of ages past

That were never truly mine

From this vantage point where I now stand

There is only the sense of a higher land

Of a plane that carries me above the trials

To that place where the Sun shines

In all its radiant benevolence

Casting its light

Upon deeper secrets

Here I am

At home in peace

My angel appears

His name is Benevolence

His heart is like the Sun

He is the reminder that I am just one small fragment

In a far larger whole

Than it is fully possible to comprehend or know alone

He talks to me in the silence

When all other troubling voices are still

And he reminds me that

Love is really all there is

Even if so often buried under layers of fear

He reminds me too of the ill

That cannot be cured or stilled

And that the only peace is found in

Which does not negate suffering or feeling

But instead bears with it

In wisdom

And compassion

And so together

We sing

Our ode to the Sun

In the stillness and silence

As that great force of light

Illuminates everything

And we rest quietly here

In the radiant benevolence

Of calm acceptance

Surrendering to the present moment

And the light within

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.
