Nature knows
When it is time to die
It just surrenders its life
Willingly
Knowing nothing of argument
Nor resistance
And when the time has come
To emerge or birth again
It summons the energy from deep within
And bursts forth
In all of its radiance
It does not ask
What do you want of me
But just radiates
From its core
What is deepest essence is
In a multitude of forms
What folly do we engage with
When we resist this process
For surely somewhere deep with
Our soul knows its destiny
That nature is its source
And its ultimate destination
And is always governed
By her seasons
Lying far beyond
Human reason
“Make like a tree and let the dead leaves drop.”
Rumi
