Is your body flung so far apart

Pierced by an arrow

Like a rose petal on a stream

To travel downhill

Carried where it will

By life’s confusing gravity

Force field of intention

So far beyond your will

Taking your soul to places

Where events kill

Parts of you that longed to live

Freed of the burden

Of given life

Now you know

There is no changing fate

It was a fast flowing stream

That carried you

As furiously

You fought it with your will

Now surrender shows you

You made your choices

Unconsciously

And guilt and regret wont get you far

So

In the encroaching afternoon of your life

Open the window

On a brand new day

Look to what you can give

And how you can live

From an open place

Package up your sorrow

And send it down stream

Shed those burdens

Now too heavy to carry

Floating

Your heart may be bruised

But it is beating still

Fired by a strength of will

Surrender everything to life
