Light, again

1

All the light we cannot see

Becomes obscured by the night

The littered dust of broken dreams

That fell like ashes in the soul

A driving rain fell and was felt like lashes

On a spirit

And a soul

Unfree

Now the light is supple here

Falling across your naked body

Covering it in tender little kisses

Loving raindrops reassemble

The soul’s scattered ashes

Of brighter dreams

Dashed against the rocks of harsh experience

Oh how they led

To bitter nights of suffering

But these in time give birth

To light

The sunlight of a new vision

And a tender new dream

That arises like the fragile dawn

After the passing

Of 3,000 nights of pain
