The fight for liberation

There’s a lot of angry angst out there flying around at present.  And its a sign that the planet Mars has just met up with Pluto, planet of power, persuasion, depth, transformation, passion and obsession.  As an astrologer I love seeing how psychic forces within the personal and the collective play out.  Its like having a language of meaning at my fingertips, a way of making sense of things that to others seem like chaos.  I don’t really care if others think its weird or strange, I feel blessed to be gifted with a line of vision that can help me to understand forces that play out in myself and others.

The fight for liberation is also on as Mars planet of assertion, will and action will also move towards a square aspect with the planet of freedom and individuality Uranus over the next week or so.  For a few years Uranus has been passing through the sign that rules Mars, Aries.  This I see is a fight for authenticity for many of us.  Aries rules the uprush of spirit which issues forth from the underground spring of the ground of our pure land and being. From the essential self that is just us, that must live and sound forth its note.

Negative Plutonian forces in the environment can try to block this Mars / Uranus force at times.  This is when we see the back lash, the revolutionary uprising which issues from the spirit’s need to find liberation from forces of darkness, control power and repression that would keep us in chains or numb and dumb us down.  There has been a lot of that for many of us over the past few years as Uranus and Pluto were in a square (tension, challenging aspect that forces growth of consciousness and awareness into forces within us and those around us).

When Mars, the planet of action comes into play and triggers these larger ongoing cycles we will see out there in the collective a battle of wills.  The Aries Uranus voice of freedom will say.  I call it as I see it.  I don’t care who it pisses off!  This is my truth, this is my cry, this is my need, this is my belief.  This is what issues from the core of self.

The Capricorn Pluto force will say (at the same time).  This is the true ground of me, this is the place I must be real, authentic and I am sorry if it seems harsh but there really is no room for compromise here as this is what the law of life says I must authentically be.  I can’t rush it, it will take time.  This is where I find my power.  This is the mountain I must climb as rocky and lonely as it is.  This is the truth I must speak, live or die trying. In this land of me platitudes make no sense and miss a deeper far more essential truth.

I am seeing and hearing a lot of that out there at present.  We are becoming aware that our truth is our truth and those who try to impose their own truth or will on others go against the truth of Pluto which dictates only that an authentic truth is lived.  And that this truth needs to be expressed and lived in a way which respects our own and other’s boundaries.  But one also that takes into account a higher will than purely personal ego desire alone.
