There is a quiet place
at the centre of things
that wants to nurture
and protect us
to love us.
Can we silence our
wounded, doubting, restless mind
long enough
to listen
to seek the quiet
and rest in it?
Body you need me to listen
you are the container
of my soul
of all that is sacred
and holy
and you hold
deep within your cells
the muted truth
the mind became deaf to
so many years ago
which I so urgently need to hear
in order to become whole
to heal.
that is a lovely poem..

This is really beautiful! And helps me so much to imagine that “quiet place in the centre” of me. I feel that core nowadays more and more. the thoughts and feelings come and go but that essence is always there, and I keep returning to that place to be nurtured and held and loved. It is old, wise and knowing! thank you!

I wrote these words down so that I can return to them often!

An older poem I wrote on the quiet centre within us back in December 2015.
